Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe and effective technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the connective tissue restrictions. These techniques can help to eliminate pain and restore motion. Pressure is sustained for a period of time (typically for 5 minutes or more) in order to allow for the viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate.

Myofascial release is a method done directly on the skin without oils, often the part of the body that has the most pain or symptoms is not the part that is causing the problems. By looking at the body as a whole and addressing the fascial restrictions where they are felt/seen in the body, positive structural changes can occur and can prevent further restrictions/pain in the future (description adapted from: John F Barnes Myofascial Release and Monadnock Myofascial Release).

All of Wild Radiance’s custom therapeutic programs include myofascial release techniques as a primary modality with the end goal of eliminating pain, improving mobility, and enhancing engagement in meaningful activities.
